As a Thiess Graduate, you will experience structured, on the job training, guided learning plans and ongoing professional development. Our programs vary in length and frequency depending on the region and can include working in both office-based roles and remote locations supporting our operations.

Our Australia Graduate Program is designed to challenge and reward, helping you realise your full potential sooner. Over the two-year program, you will undertake up to two twelve-month rotations with placements in various roles, projects and functions.

How many graduates does Thiess employ each year?
Our intake numbers vary, but it is usually around 18-30 positions.
Will I be a permanent employee?
Yes. Graduates are employed as permanent employees at Thiess, subject to a probationary period of six months.
What is the purpose of graduate rotations?
The purpose of rotations is for graduates to gain exposure to other business areas, expand their skill set, be exposed to different career pathways and broaden their network within the company.
How are rotations determined?
Rotations are mapped, considering graduate preferences, business requirements and functional lead recommendations focusing on the learning and development requirements for each discipline area.
Will I receive relocation assistance to support moving to my rotation placements?
Yes, Thiess provides our graduates with relocation assistance should they need to relocate to commence employment on our graduate program.
What accommodation options are available to graduates in the regional areas?
If you are placed at a Thiess project in Queensland, camp or shared graduate accommodation is available.
If you are placed at a Thiess project in New South Wales, shared graduate accommodation is available in either Singleton or Muswellbrook.
What is a learning plan?
Each graduate is issued with a learning plan that guides their learning and development and assists them in reaching their career goals.
What professional development does Thiess provide?
In addition to on-the-job training and mentoring, our graduates participate in professional development days, covering a range of topics that focus on soft skill development.
What happens on completion of the graduate program?
Our program aims to transition our graduates into operational or functional positions once they have completed the program. The rotations are designed to give graduates the relevant exposure and experience to transition successfully.
